Cottage Cove Advisory Board

The Cottage Cove Advisory Board exists to complement the Board of Directors without usurping its' governing role as defined by our constitution and by-laws.

Purpose:

  1. To provide additional input to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

  2. To assist in promotion of the ministry of Cottage Cove and its events.

Membership:

  1. Open to past members of the Board of Directors upon approval of the current Board of Directors and assent of the Executive Director.

  2. Open to other supporters and advocates of the ministry of Cottage Cove upon recommendation by any current board member, plus subsequent approval of the Board of Directors and assent of the Executive Director.

  3. Advisory Board members shall be in agreement with the purpose of Cottage Cove.

Specific Role:

  1. Advisory Board members shall participate in one fundraiser annually.

  2. Advisory Board members may attend any regularly scheduled meetings of the Board of Directors and participate in any discussions in a non-voting capacity. Cottage Cove will endeavor to provide additional board communications to Advisory Board members apprising them of issues under deliberation, accomplishments, and other behind the scenes happenings.

  3. Advisory Board members shall seek to use their sphere of influence to promote the wellbeing of the ministry of Cottage Cove.

  4. Additional roles may be assigned by the Board of Directors with the approval of the Advisory Board as a whole or the individuals affected by any supplementary duties.

Advisory Board members seeking greater board involvement in the ministry of Cottage Cove may submit their own name as a nomination to the Board of Directors, providing they are in agreement with all requirements for that office. Subsequent election to the Board of Directors is in accordance with our by-laws. The Board of Directors of Cottage Cove reserves the right to dismiss any Advisory Board member for failure to meet the criteria above, or any reason negatively impacting the ministry of Cottage Cove.
